Budding journalists at Preshute School learn about Marlborough.news
Sue Round, from Marlborough.news visited Preshute Primary School to speak to Year 4 on Friday June 14. Here are some extracts from articles written by the pupils.
Joyful journalist joins Year 4
Journalist, Sue Round came to Year 4 at Preshute Primary School to give us information about her job which is writing newspaper articles for an on-line newspaper site called Marlborough.news.
Lots of people read on-line newspapers now because you can see the news each day, you don’t have to wait for the newspaper to be published and there is no waste. And guess what? One of her stories about the zero waste shop in Marlborough got 24.500 views.
Heidi said, “It was very interesting when she came in. I really enjoyed listening to what she had to say.”
Tremendous tips given by jolly journalist at Preshute
Sue Round came to Preshute on Friday June 14 to talk about her job as an online journalist. She showed us what it was like on Marlborough.news and what you could look at when you were on their website.
Sue said, “Year 4 were very interested and asked lots of questions. I’ve loved being able to come here.”

June 14 proved to be an exciting day for Preshute School. Class 4 thoroughly enjoyed having Sue Round come in to talk about her job at Marlborough.news.
“I was extremely interested in what Sue had to say. I enjoyed it so much,” said class member, Ava.

Year 4 class teacher, Mrs Chambers said: “Sue gave us lots of information about her work and on-line reporting. Year 4 were very curious and asked lots of questions.”
One story Sue told us was about an incorrect plaque but Marlborough.news saved the day !
