Marlborough Cricket Club 1st 11 completed a dominant victory on Saturday away to near neighbours Devizes.
After winning the toss and batting first Marlborough scored a commanding 212 for 6 of their 50 overs with middle order batsmen Peter Day underlining his class once again with a fluent 77.
In response Devizes crumbled to a meagre 78 all out ensuring a 134 run victory for Marlborough with Vice-Captain Will Langton taking 3 wickets while George Fox, Ben Head and teenage spin sensation Fraser Gordon taking 2 wickets apiece.
Trees skipper Tom Norris said ” Peter Day batted really well while it was good all round bowling display today”.
Meanwhile Marlborough 2nd 11 also tasted victory in a 5 wicket win at home to Biddestone in the game very kindly sponsored by David Dudley Jewellers of Marlborough high street. After bowling out Biddestone for 122 Marlborough reached their target for 5 wickets down mainly due to a classy 63 not out from opener Nick Crabbe
