Second placed Marlborough travel to first placed Trowbridge on Saturday in what will be an all or nothing game for the forest outfit. Marlborough currently trail the league leaders by 21 points in the WEPL Wiltshire division with three games to play and know nothing but a win at the weekend will keep their title hopes alive.
Marlborough Coach Brad Frost says his side knows that a win will put them well and truly back in the title race and close the gap between them and their title challenger’s to single figures.
“A good win and we could be back within a couple of points and very much everything to play for for the rest of the season. We are also very aware that a defeat on Saturday will as good as give Trowbridge the title. The boys are up for the challenge and I am confident the boys will give a 100% to keep the title race alive for us to the end of the season”.
Marlborough have the return of inform batsman Peter Day for this week’s game and his inclusion will further strengthen a back in form Marlborough batting unit which has comfortably outscored their opponents in recent games.
Marlborough will continue to look to Captain Arran Dickinson and Frost to lead the team by example with bat and ball as they have in recent weeks. Dickinson currently leads the league’s batting charts with 613 runs for the season and Frost is 2nd in the bowling charts with 34 wickets.
“It would cap of a great season if we can win the title and that both Arran and myself could finish on top of the batting and bowling tables.” Frost added.
