MYFC - Angels U11s (The Foxes) runners-up in their first season

The Foxes were unlucky to be 2-0 down very early on so there was a mountain to climb, but heads never dropped and they gave it everything they had. By half time the score was 3-0. After the break, they had to go for it! Against a very strong defence, MYFC managed plenty of shots, but just weren't able to find the back of the net. Highworth also kept coming back at Foxes, passing and moving the ball very well.
Eventually the Foxes managed to find a well worked goal, creating an almighty cheer from the Marlborough support! It just seemed to be one of those days were chances were hitting the post, going narrowly wide and being saved by a very talented Highworth goalkeeper.
The girls definitely did themselves justice and played extremely well against a very organised opponent. Although disappointed not to get the win, they were over the moon with the achievement of reaching the final and were able to hold their heads high with smiles on their faces.
Team manager Becky Knox said: “The support from family and friends was amazing throughout the match and after, with lots of orange on display which was great to see. Onwards and upwards for the Marlborough Foxes, with the team spirit and dedication they have, they will continue to improve and enjoy their football”.
