Success of Marlborough Youth Football Club leads chairman to appeal for volunteers
Marlborough Youth Football Club success and growth has led to the clairman, Stuart Slater caling for more volunteers.
"We are a fabulous club with 360 player members, we already have nearly sixty regular volunteers who make the club work for the players with now twenty three teams being fielded regularly, but we still need more help".
He added: "We have great support from our fifteen sponsors and have excellent standing in the community but we always need more help. We are all volunteers, and with the passing of each season volunteers move on with our gratitude and we always need new recruits!"
Stuart identified areas where volunteers would be particularly welcome. Coaches, assistants and team managers were always in demand and necessary but beyond the pitch activity the club needs a sponsor manager, fund raiser, website manager and somenone to help with IT, which is ever more important.
He stressed that the club will invest in all safeguarding, first aid and FA Level 1/2 qualifications.
How much will volunteers be expected to do? "All help is welcome" he answered. "Whether an hour a month, an hour a week or an hour a day, all time is gratefully received."
"We are alaways looking to the future" he added. "Over time we will inevitably need Chair, Treasurer and Club Secretary replacements, therefore the time is right to seek a vice chair, vice treasurer and vice secretary."
