Looking ahead to sunny summer days of golf with views over the downs, Marlborough Golf Club had announced that the Swindon BMW dealer, Dick Lovett, has confirmed their sponsorship of the 2014 Seniors Open.
The competition will be held on Tuesday, July 8 and is open to any player over the age of 55 with a handicap of 24 or less.
The Seniors Open has been running for more than thirty years, but this is the first time the competition has received the backing of Dick Lovett BMW Swindon.
David Ferris, chairman of the Marlborough Seniors, is delighted with the support of such a prestigious company: “Many members from clubs across the south of England take part in our Seniors Open. Dick Lovett BMW Swindon’s sponsorship gives recognition to the quality and popularity of our competition.”
Steve Faulkner, Dealer Principal of Dick Lovett BMW Swindon, said: “Marlborough is well known as a superb golf course and we are happy to be associated with such a popular event”.
Seniors taking part in the competition will notice a difference on the day. There will be three top prizes of £100, a notable increase on previous years. However a voice from the first green added: “Regretfully there are no free cars for a hole-in-one!”
Entry information is at the Visitors section of the club’s website.
The closing date for entries is May 30.
