Explaining why he had chosen the On Course Foundation as his nominated charity, club captain Alan Pryor said: “No other sport enables people of all abilities and disabilities to compete, through the handicapping system, on an equal basis and it was great to have three of the guys playing with the members on the day.”

Attendees also heard from Paul Skivington, who lost his leg while serving in the Army. “I can’t tell you how much golf has meant to me since then,” he said. “Days like this are great fun but also so valuable to OCF.”

In October there will be a match for the Mayor’s Trophy, between the Town Council and Marlborough Golf Club. The Town Council's team will be mostly from the 4th Battalion Military Intelligence; the Golf Club is hoping the OCF will be part of their team and then inter-service rivalry will be fierce.
