Two MYFC Players of The Year - one voted by Parents / public and another by the Coaches

Following a successful season the Player of The Year awards were announced on 13th July 2017.  Whereas in previous years there had only been one Player of The Year award, this year there were two - one for The Player of The Year as voted for by parents and public , and the other as voted by coaching staff of MYFC.

Brennan winner at Hills Wiltshire Professionals’ Golf Championship

Nick Brennan teeing offNick Brennan teeing offNick Brennan of Tony Valentine Golf Centre was the winner of the 37th Hills Wiltshire Professionals’ Golf Championship held at Marlborough Golf Club on Thursday, July 6.

Brennan scored an overall three under par.

Despite a forecast of heavy rain and thunderstorms, perfect conditions prevailed throughout the day and 19 of Wiltshire’s professional golfers took part in the 36 hole event.

The morning round saw Dan Carter of Upavon GC storm ahead of the field carding seven birdies to post an amazing five under par 67, with Henry Pallas of Upavon GC one under par and Nick Brennan at level par.

As temperatures soared in the afternoon, the competition on the course got tougher and the second round proved challenging for Carter who, despite an eagle on the 9th, had bogeys on six other holes. Pallas was also plagued by bogeys including a double and triple giving him an afternoon round of 76 and third place overall.

Brennan however had found his form and with four birdies and only one bogey, it was all to play for coming down the 18th as he was level with Carter. A fantastic chip onto the green gave Brennan the edge and a birdie putt secured him the title.

Where Angels dream...... Wembley!

Angels outside WembleyAngels outside WembleyMYFC Angels had an outing to Wembley on Saturday 13 May to watch the Ladies FA Cup Final between Manchester City and Birmingham City.

A testament to how the Angels section of MYFC has grown in the last couple of years is proven by the fact that they managed to fill Barnes Coaches largest bus with 45 MYFC players, plus, parents and siblings to make a total of 96 (no room left on the bus!!) for a fantastic day out of spectacular football action.

Chilvester Financial sign up as long term sponsor for Marlborough Rugby as Elisi Vunipola joins as Head Coach

 

 Marlborough Rugby Football Club have just announced two very important signings:   firstly, Elis Vunipola, former Tonga international fly half, and uncle of England internationals Billy and Mako joins as Head Coach, and secondly, Chilvester Financial commit to a long-term five year sponsorship deal which will provide funding to support the thirty-five strong team of coaches who work with the nearly four hundred club members from Under 7s to First XV.

Marlborough Tennis Club’s new courts begin to take shape as fundraising gathers pace

 

The first phase of Marlborough Tennis Club’s six new all weather tennis courts has been completed in record time.

Situated behind trees, protected from the southwest wind, and allowing far-reaching views over the Marlborough Downs, the new courts will provide a stunning new facility for Marlborough and its two hundred tennis club members.
