Are there really no Syrian refugees settled in Marlborough?

Sirs 
Some weeks ago our Link co-ordinator contacted drivers to ask if we could help Syrian families get to a meeting/get-together in Potterne Wick.
 
I was delighted to offer my services and I was asked to take a family of four from Calne to Potterne Wick and return them to their home later.  I had expected to be assigned a journey from Marlborough.
 
This wasn’t required as 'there are no Syrian refugees in Marlborough'.  Indeed, as far as I can ascertain, there are no refugee families in Marlborough at all.
 
Can this really be true?  I am told there are currently around 50 unaccompanied asylum-seeking children in Wiltshire and to date more than 120 Syrian refugees are settled in the county.  But none in Marlborough?
 
Perhaps there are circumstances that make this impossible, but I would like to find out why and registering my concern through marlborough.news seems to be one way.
 
In what is an enormous humanitarian problem surely our town and Town Council should be seeking ways to help?
 
It would be good to know what marlborough.news readers' views are on this matter.
 
Is Marlborough impervious to the problems facing refugee families?
