Marlborough Golf Club’s Jeremy Tomlinson to be the new CEO at England Golf

Jeremy Tomlinson, new CEO of England GolfJeremy Tomlinson, new CEO of England GolfJeremy Tomlinson, who has been a member at Marlborough Golf Club since 1985 and both club first team and Wiltshire County captain, will join England Golf as its new Chief Executive Officer in January 2020.

England Golf are one of the country’s largest sports governing bodies with around 1,900 golf clubs and 630,000 members.

Jeremy, or Jez as he is known to his friends, was Vice President and Managing Director of Acushnet Europe where he was responsible for the market leading brands Titleist and FootJoy.

Prior to this he was a founding director of online golf retailer jamgolf.com and spent eight years as brand and sales manager for Callaway Golf Europe.  He has also worked to develop and to promote school and community golf through his role as trustee of the Golf Foundation.

Speaking to marlborough.news, Jeremy said, “I wanted to move from the commercial golf world to a role where I could put something back and make a difference.  I hope to try to bring the inspirational values and life skills of golf to as many people as possible.”

Nic Coward, Chairman of England Golf, said:  “We are delighted to welcome Jeremy as our new Chief Executive.

“His considerable business experience and his deep knowledge of golf at all levels will be a huge asset to England Golf and all the organisations involved in developing, promoting and running the sport across the country.”

Jeremy joins England Golf at a time of change. In November 2020 a new world handicap system will be introduced so there will be a great deal to do to ensure the introduction is as seamless as possible.

Jeremy is looking forward to his new role: “I am honoured and excited to become the new Chief Executive Officer of England Golf. I will face a huge learning curve but to be joining a talented team with so many opportunities to positively affect the health of our great game is hugely energising.”
