Marlborough and District Rotary Club have today, Wednesday February 19, presented Marlborough Youth and Community Centre with a powerful £900 sound system.
Martin Luxford, President of Marlborough and District Rotary, told Marlborough.news, “We’re delighted to help the Youth and Community Centre to provide facilities for young people in Marlborough. It’s part of our on-going programme of support. We managed to secure a grant from Rotary District of £1500 towards equipment.”
A set of basketball hoops and backboards were purchased with the first part of the grant.
Mayor Mervyn Hall, accepting the sound system on behalf of the Youth Centre, said, “We’re very grateful to the Rotary Club for providing this. This new sound system will enable us to provide music for parties and because the equipment can run on batteries it can be used outside to provide PA and music for events.”
The sound system will also be available for use to those who wish to book the Youth and Community Centre for parties and events. The Centre is available to hire by room at £12 per hour, rising to £12.50 after April 1. To make a booking please contact Sue Fry on 01672 512487 or email suefry@marlborough-tc.gov.uk to discuss your requirement.
