Wiltshire Council has drawn up a five-year plan for highway maintenance in the Marlborough area.
At their Planning Committee meeting (April 8), town councillors ‘noted’ these plans. But they did not appear to note that re-surfacing The Parade and Kennet Place are now scheduled for the financial year 2023-2024.
Remember the furore when Wiltshire Council re-surfaced the parking area in The Parade, but left the pot-holed roadway untreated?
2023-2024 will also see the part of the A345 from Clench Common towards town that was not re-surfaced last year, given ‘surface treatment’ rather than re-surfacing.
Some local drivers have told marlborough.news they consider that this stretch of road – north of the Manton Drove turning – already has an unsafe surface.
