Marlborough recorded their first win of the league season with an impressive win away at Trowbridge.

Dylan Bennie - excellent centuryDylan Bennie - excellent centuryPut into bat by the hosts the " Trees" were in early trouble losing openers Nick Crabbe and Ben Head cheaply but thanks to a brilliant 172 run 3rd wicket partnership between skipper Tom Norris 85 and overseas star Dylan Bennie who scored a brilliant 105.

Marlborough reached 245-8 off their 50 overs with Mike Reynolds, Luke Seymour and Scott Marshall taking two wickets apiece for Trowbridge.

In reply Wesley Marshall 50 and Sam Julyan 69 gave Trowbridge hope of victory but Mark Wingfield-Digby with 3 wickets and Fraser Gordon and George Fox with 2 wickets each ensured that Marlborough bowled Trowbridge out for 179 ensuring a hard fought 66 run win.

Marlborough Skipper Norris said " Myself and Dylan struggled at first but dug in and batting got easier but it was hardwork bowling them out".

Marlborough 2nd team also beat Trowbridge 2nd 11 at home in the game kindly sponsored by the Bell at West Overton.  Highlight of the game was undoubtly a hat trick by young Marlborough bowler Dave West who finished with figures of 4-27.
